Donald Trump
Recently I watched CNN’s Wolf Blitzer interview New York-based real estate developer and media hog, Donald Trump. I was amazed to see that “The Donald” had been watching Naked News. Or, at least many of his opinions were exactly what we have been saying here for quite some time.
Primarily, that China is the biggest threat to the US economy and that the US is willingly feeding this giant that will one day take them over. Like us at Naked News, Trump complains about China’s artificially low currency, which results in artificially cheaper goods that no other major country can compete with. When Blitzer asked Trump whether the US would dare antagonize China while they hold so much of the US debt, Trump replied that the income from one year of tariffs on Chinese imports would pay off all of that debt.
Next, Trump said that he did not believe in the Stock Market. That it was a fool’s game that he would not play. No argument there.
Then, The Donald said that he thought President Obama would have a tough time getting re-elected. Trump said he was definitely no fan of George W. Bush, but that President Obama isn’t perceived as doing a much better job.
In fact, Trump said he liked what he saw in the Tea Party. He said QUOTE: “I love it. I think it's great. Because they are telling people we're watching you. I really love it. ….And I'll tell you, it got people thinking. It got people on the Democratic side and the Republican side thinking. “ END QUOTE
The Donald didn’t have much to say about some of the CANDIDATES in the Tea Party but he liked the grassroots populism of the movement.
And on America’s position in the world community, Trump had this to say: QUOTE “Well, something's wrong. We're not respected throughout the world. We used to be respected. If you look at the Reagan years, we really were respected. We're not respected anymore as a country.” END QUOTEMr. Trump acknowledges that he is what he refers to as a “hawk”. He thinks the US has been too kind in its dealings with others. For example, he faults President Carter for giving away the Panama Canal, which is now earning huge amounts of money - for others. He faults the US for allowing a cartel - OPEC - to set the price of oil, and he faults the US for rescuing Kuwait from Saddam Hussein but not getting any significant compensation from Kuwait for their efforts.
Whatever you may say about the “The Donald”, the man is no fool except maybe regarding his, um, unique hairstyle - and he has significant insight into the country he lives in. And the picture he paints is not rosy…. which is what we have been saying here for quite some time. So, Donald. If you ever want to come over to discuss this, just give us a call.
