Remembering D-Day -
A few days ago was the 6th of June. This is the anniversary of D-Day the day the Allied forces landed on the beaches of Normandy in 1944. This day represented the beginning of the end of Nazi Germany at great sacrifice to all the men and countries participating in the landing.
It got me to thinking that, 65 years later, so much has changed in the world. So very much has changed... and yet our men and women are still fighting in foreign countries and making sacrifices on behalf of their country.
We here at NakedNews.com genuinely support the bravery of our military, especially those that are stationed away from home and in harm’s way.
We would encourage you to recall these sacrifices, and consider a donation to a veterans’ or military charity, such as FisherHouse.org, which provides lodging and support for families of injured US troops. Or ErskineHouse.org.uk which provides residential care for elderly or disabled veterans. Or Ausvets.com.AU, and Legion.CA, offering support services and advocacy. Even simple words of support are welcomed by deployed troops, and can be sent through sites like www.OurMilitary.mil.
In a small gesture of appreciation to all these men and women, Naked News will currently offer a FREE membership to every CURRENT member of the military serving outside his or her own country. So, if you or a loved one are posted abroad, just write to Feedback@NakedNews.com from your military email address, tell us where you are serving, and we will reply with your free membership. We hope to bring a little morale-boost and a taste of home to these men and women serving their countries in foreign land.
Come home safe. Come home soon.
