Sarah Palin For President -
Some of my best friends are small "L" liberals---- but not I.
I believe in the conservative philosophy, which encourages minimal government interference in our lives and our economy. I certainly don’t believe politicians are acting in MY best interest only their own, like most people - so I think the less power we give them, the better. Especially when it comes to taking our hard-earned money and spending it. I despise that governments always seem to believe that they have a god-given right to the fruits of OUR labours.
My heroes include Margaret Thatcher. Mrs. Thatcher was properly nicknamed the "Iron Lady". She was intelligent, committed and unwavering in her conservative beliefs and I wish we had more politicians like her.
So where am I going with this? Ok I’ll tell you. I am a conservative but I am embarrassed by the Sarah Palin phenomenon. What bothers me is not so much Ms Palin herself, but that there appear to be a large number Americans out there who believe this lady has the qualifications to be President of the United States. I mean, really? I consider her an intellectual embarrassment.
If you don’t agree, just go to your Internet search engine and type in "Sarah Palin Quotes" and you may conclude as I do, that she makes former Vice President Dan Quayle sound REALLY smart.
Here is an example - and I quote:
"I think on a national level your Department of Law there in the White House would look at some of the things that we've been charged with and automatically throw them out."
I am sure I don’t have to explain how silly a statement this is: "the Department of Law"? There’s no such thing in the White House. A Vice Presidential candidate really ought to know that.Of course, this is a woman who thinks that living in a state near Russia, counts as foreign policy experience.
I know she has been attacked by the Liberal media, but she said these things ON CAMERA and she wasn’t misquoted and she wasn’t taken out of context.
I don’t begrudge Mrs Palin making a good living writing her autobiography and making speeches for $100,000 a pop. That’s exactly the free market system I believe in. And don’t misunderstand me. I am not making any judgment on her conservative beliefs... But President of the United States?! Whoa Nelly!!!.
If we truly get the government we deserve, I say Americans deserve much better than Sarah Palin. She is NO Margaret Thatcher. Heck, she’s not even a Dan Quayle.
